What does a real estate agent do?

The job of a real estate agent can be broken down into three parts: marketing, selling, and managing the sale.

Marketing involves making sure that potential buyers know about your property. This could include advertising it in newspapers or magazines, posting it on social media and websites like Zillow, or putting up signs around town.

Selling involves showing potential buyers around your home and answering their questions. You'll want to make sure you have all the information about your home available for them, so that they have all the information they need to make an informed decision about whether it's the right fit for them.

Managing the sale is what happens once a buyer has made an offer on your home. They will send you paperwork detailing everything that needs to happen next in order to complete the transaction, including signing contracts and paying fees. You'll also want to be available throughout this process in case any questions come up or problems arise with closing on time (or at all).
